YambTrack

Privacy Policy

Effective & last updated: August 14, 2026

YambTrack is a scoresheet and dice-tracking app for the Yamb dice game, made by a single independent developer. This page explains, plainly, what the app collects, why, and who it's shared with.

At a glance

Usage & crash data Screens viewed, games started/completed, and crash reports - via Firebase, to understand usage and fix bugs.
Online play data The name you type in and your scoresheet, visible to the other players in your game room.
No account required Online multiplayer uses an anonymous Firebase identity - no email, password, or sign-up.
Ads & an optional purchase The free version shows ads via Google AdMob. A one-time purchase removes them - handled entirely by Apple/Google, never by us.

Information we collect

Usage analytics

The app uses Firebase Analytics to understand how it's used - which screens are opened, when a game is started or finished, and whether it's offline or online play. This includes standard data Firebase collects automatically for any app: app version, device/OS type, approximate country-level location, and session timing. This data is aggregated and isn't used to identify you personally.

Crash and error reports

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to report crashes and errors, including a stack trace and basic device state at the time of the crash. This is used only to find and fix bugs.

Advertising

The free version of the app shows ads served by Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as your device's advertising ID), general device and app information, and IP address. We don't send AdMob your name, your scores, or anything else you enter in the app. Ad personalization depends on your device's own ad tracking settings.

Purchases

You can remove ads with a one-time "Remove Ads" purchase. This is processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play - we never see your payment details. The app only stores, locally on your device, whether you've purchased ad removal.

Online multiplayer

If you play online, the app creates an anonymous Firebase Authentication identity for your device - a random ID, with no email, password, or personal account involved. Your game room, the player name you type in, and your live scoresheet are stored in Cloud Firestore so they can sync between everyone in that game. Other players in your room can see the name you entered and your scores in real time.

Data kept only on your device

Your last-used player name, language preference, whether you've purchased ad removal, and any in-progress offline game are saved locally on your device (via standard iOS/Android local storage) so the app remembers them between sessions. This local data is never sent anywhere unless you start an online game, at which point your player name is shared as described above.

How this information is used

Third-party services

YambTrack is built on Google Firebase (Analytics, Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Crashlytics) and Google AdMob for ads. Both are governed by Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. In-app purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, governed by their own respective privacy policies. No other third parties receive your data.

Data retention & deletion

Online game rooms are temporary and are not kept once a game ends. Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase for a limited period under Google's standard retention settings and aren't tied to your name or contact details. If you'd like any data associated with your device deleted sooner, contact us below and we'll take care of it.

Children's privacy

YambTrack is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it. Meaningful changes will be reflected in the app's release notes.
